Number of sophisticated weapons in criminals’ hands in Rivers state alarming – New Rivers CP

The New Rivers state Commissioner of Police, Mr. Francis Odesanya, has said the number of sophisticated weapons in the hands of criminals in Rivers state is alarming, vowing, however, to get rid such of criminals.

The CP raised the alarm during his visit to the Independent National Electoral Commissioner Resident Electoral Commissioner in Rivers state, Mr. Aniedi Ikoiwak.

Odesanya promised to back up INEC personnel with adequate security for conduct of free and fair election in the state.

Mr. Ikoiwak told the Commissioner of Police that the rerun legislative election scheduled to have held on July 30 was postponed by the Commission due security situation in the state.
